Event timeline generator

Generate a running order for your event, from setup to breakdown, based on start time and event type.

How this is worked out

Each event type has a typical sequence of stages with standard durations — arrival and drinks, main event, meal, speeches or key moments, and evening activity. Times are calculated forward from your arrival time using durations common for UK events of that type.

Worked example

A wedding reception starting at 14:00 runs drinks and canapés until 15:00, the wedding breakfast until 17:00, speeches until 17:30, then evening reception from 19:00 with carriages typically called around midnight.

Frequently asked questions

Can I adjust individual stage lengths?

This generates a sensible starting point — treat it as a draft to share with your venue and suppliers, who may adjust stage lengths based on your specific plans.

Does this include vendor setup and breakdown time?

The stages shown cover the guest-facing event. Ask your venue and suppliers separately for their setup and breakdown windows, which usually happen before arrival and after the listed end time.
